April 16, 2008 – Lively, Ontario – Cast Resources Limited continues to play a key role in the development of some of North America’s largest ore bodies.
The company recently delivered the first of two remanufactured EJC-430 ejector bed haulage trucks in support of the 5200 Down Ramp Development at Vale Inco’s Copper Cliff North Mine near Sudbury, Ontario.
The project was awarded to Cementation Canada Inc in late 2007. It involves approximately 8,500 feet of development, miscellaneous raising and construction work and employs approximately 64 people.
When the project began, the company already had two EJC-430 ejector bed haulage trucks in its fleet working two shifts a day, seven days a week.
“It was a decision based on our project philosophy and what’s best for the project,” said Cementation General Manager Eric Kohtakangas. “We recognized the importance of rock disposal and felt the ejector trucks would allow for better rock disposal and stope dumping. The decision married well with the mine, since rock filling is part of their daily mining cycle. EJC-430 ejector trucks have proven to be reliable, solid machines and our operators find them comfortable and easy to operate. The recent delivery of the EJC-430 allowed us to send one of our existing units out for remanufacture while keeping the second one working. Their delivery fit our schedule and we also appreciate the high quality of service and support we get from Cast.”
It’s that service and support that allows Cast Resources customers to achieve maximum profit from their original capital investment on equipment.
“Client machines can often enjoy ‘two lives’ thanks to the remanufacturing program at Cast”, explained Cast Resources co-owner Fred Castron. ”Under this program, machines are rebuilt using OEM parts including the powertrain, which is covered by a “like-new” warranty.” {mosimage}
